What’s your favorite wine at Curio?
I love the Braai Pinotage. Braai is the South African term for Barbecue and when I sip this pinotage I’m overwhelmed by those smoky, meaty, wood-fired flavors. It gives me a comfy, cozy feeling of being by a fire pit, which is perfect for this time of year. It’s not too dry, the juiciness balances all of the astringent tannins and the acidity is mouthwatering and I can’t wait for the next sip.
What’s your favorite thing about working at Curio?
I’m so grateful to be working at Curio. The Downtown Fredericksburg Community is as eclectic as the wines we carry and I love hearing about everyone’s favorite wines; it almost always leads to a story about their lives and what they are passionate about, whether or not they’re wine lovers. Wine should be approachable, and what better way to learn and explore the world of wine than a self-driven tasting experience? There’s no sense of pretense when you walk into our space, it’s more like attending a dinner party where everyone can mingle and explore together.
