The featured club wine for February 2025 is the complex and elegant Saint Cosme Crozes-Hermitage Syrah from the Rhône region of France. This wine is produced from 100% Sérine, an ancient and more traditional variety of Syrah than modern ones. The wine is a deep, dark ruby color, and the nose is dominated by ripe dark fruits, such as blackberries, black cherries, and plums. On the palate, you’ll experience rich flavors of dark berries (blackberries, raspberries, and even a hint of violet or anise). The tannins are structured, providing a solid backbone, but they are also well-balanced and integrated with the fruit. A refreshing acidity helps to lift the fruit flavors and keeps the wine lively and well-balanced.
