May 2026 Events

May at Curio is a month of celebration: of spring in full bloom, of the people we love, and of one of the greatest wine countries on earth. Italy takes center stage this month, winding through the Curio Wine School calendar while the season fills the rest of the calendar with reasons to raise a glass.

The month opens with First Friday on May 1st — happy hour from 3-6 PM right in the heart of Downtown FXBG — and Founders Club Night follows on Wednesday the 6th, 7-8 PM, a dedicated hour for our most loyal guests. Then on Saturday the 9th, we’re joining the Fredericksburg Flower Crawl with a Bouquet of Bubbly Trio — the perfect pairing for a spring afternoon in bloom. And because no May would be complete without honoring the women who make everything possible, we’re hosting a ticketed Mother’s Day Brunch on Sunday the 10th from 10 AM to noon.

Curio Wine School’s Italy series is the heart of this month. On May 13th, we explore the Red Wines of Italy, bold, structured expressions that have made Italian reds legendary the world over. On May 20th, we turn to the whites, Italy’s lighter side, endlessly food-friendly and full of personality. Then on May 27th, we close the month the best way we know how: Italian Cheese & Wine Pairing, where the food and the glass become inseparable.

Memorial Day falls on Monday the 25th, and Curio will be open 1-6 PM — a gentler pace for a long weekend afternoon, with plenty of Italian pours to mark the unofficial start of summer.

Whether you’re here for the bubbles, the brunch, the Wine School, or simply a quiet glass on a warm May evening, this month gives you every reason to stay a while. Italy is calling — and it sounds a lot like cin cin.
